TubeMind

Discover, Outliers and Deep filters

Discover searches TubeMind's index of YouTube channels, and Outliers searches videos that beat their own channel's usual views. Filters narrow both lists using public YouTube numbers, and Deep filters gives you every channel filter on one screen.

Open Discover

Who it is for

  • New creators looking for small channels that are growing now
  • Faceless creators hunting for formats that work on young channels
  • Anyone who wants proof a topic still gets views before making a video
  • Researchers who like to set many conditions at once in Deep filters

Use something else when

  • Seeing every channel on YouTube. Results only come from TubeMind's index
  • Private data like watch time, CTR or real earnings
  • A final niche decision. Use the niche report and its verdict for that

How to use it

  1. Open Discover and type a topic, or paste a channel link or @handle.
  2. Click a preset like Small channels or Rising. You can turn on more than one.
  3. Open More filters, change two or three values and watch the live count before you press Apply.
  4. Switch to Outliers to see the videos behind the channels, sorted by multiplier.
  5. Save or track what you like, and bookmark the page link to come back to the same search.
  6. If the list is thin, use Request it to ask TubeMind to crawl that niche.

How Discover and Outliers work

Discover lists channels. Your search words are matched against the channel name, description and keywords, a pasted @handle, or a TubeMind niche with that name. Outliers lists videos. If no title has all your words, Outliers falls back to titles with any of them and tells you so.

An outlier is a video doing much better than its own channel usually does. The multiplier is views ÷ the median views of the channel's last 30 uploads of the same format and similar length, with this video left out. Live streams and channels with fewer than 5 scored uploads are skipped. As a rough guide, 2× is good, 5× is strong, and 10× and up is viral. Lists stop at 1,000×, because above that the number is rarely real. When the usual views come from fewer than 10 earlier videos, the card warns that the multiplier is less certain.

It all comes from public YouTube statistics plus TubeMind's own estimates, not YouTube's private data.

What the main filters read

FilterWhat it reads
SubscribersThe public count. YouTube rounds it.
Typical viewsMedian views of the last 30 uploads, so one viral video cannot lift it.
Views in the last 30 daysViews on uploads published in the last 30 days.
Views per subscriberAverage views ÷ subscribers. Above 1 means videos reach past the subscriber base.
Uploads per monthUpload pace from the uploads TubeMind sampled.
Best multiplier in 30 daysThe highest outlier multiplier among recent uploads.
Channel created / first upload / last uploadThree separate dates. Creation is YouTube's date; first and last upload come from the uploads TubeMind holds.
Published within, views per hourOutliers only: the video's upload date, and views ÷ hours since publishing.

Some filters need a free account, such as views in the last 30 days, consistency and best multiplier in 30 days. Signed out, they are not applied. Labels like faceless or near YPP thresholds are TubeMind estimates. Near YPP thresholds comes from public subscribers and views, because YouTube does not share monetization status. The full list with tips is on the filter guide.

How to combine filters

Start with two or three filters. Each one you add shrinks the list, and a very short list says little. A good first search for a new creator:

  • Subscribers under 25K, so you study channels you could catch.
  • Last upload within 30 days, so the channel is still active.
  • Views in the last 30 days above a floor, so views are coming in now, not years ago.

Presets are a quick start. You can turn on several at once, their conditions are combined, and a second click turns one off. Every preset only fills in filters, so you can open them and change any value.

Inside More filters, changes stay a draft until you press Apply, and the footer counts how many results the draft would give. If you end up with nothing, Discover shows which filters to drop and how many channels each one would bring back.

Deep filters puts the channel filters on one page in four groups: channel activity, performance, content and relevance. It adds a few extras, such as the date TubeMind discovered the channel and excluded keywords. Made for kids channels are excluded by default there. Press Apply and the results open in Discover.

Keeping a search and requesting a niche

Your filters live in the page address. To come back to the same search later, bookmark the page or copy the link. Single channels and videos can be saved with the bookmark icon into Saved, and channels can be tracked in Watchlist and alerts, where you can also follow a keyword.

When a topic is new to TubeMind, Discover shows a line like Our index holds N channels in this topic. A thin count means thin results. Use Request a niche: type the topic, and the crawler runs two YouTube searches for it, one for established channels and one for videos from the last 60 days. Channels with 100+ subscribers and 5+ uploads get indexed and scored, and the request page shows the status. Paste a channel instead, such as an @handle or a youtube.com/@ link, and TubeMind adds that one channel straight to its queue, with no search. If YouTube's daily quota is used up, the request waits for the reset. You can send 5 requests per hour.

How many results you see can depend on your plan. See plans and limits.

Questions

Why does Discover not show a channel I know exists?

Discover only searches channels in TubeMind's index. Paste the channel link or @handle to look it up, or request the niche so the crawler adds channels from that topic.

What is a good outlier multiplier?

As a rough guide, 2x is good, 5x is strong and 10x and up is viral. Check the baseline sample too, since a small baseline makes a big multiplier less certain.

Can I save a search?

Your filters are kept in the page link, so bookmark or copy it to return to the same search. You can also save single channels and videos, or track a channel or keyword.

Why are some filters not working when I am signed out?

A few filters, such as views in the last 30 days and consistency, need a free account. Signed out, they are not applied.

What is the difference between Discover and Deep filters?

Deep filters is one page with all the channel filters laid out. When you press Apply, it opens the same results in Discover.
