Watchlist and alerts: follow channels and keywords

Trackers let you follow a channel, a niche or a keyword, and TubeMind sends you an alert when one of its new videos gets far more views than normal. The same page has a keyword rank tracker for your own videos, and Saved keeps the research you want to come back to.

Open Trackers

Who it is for

  • Creators who want to know when a competitor's video takes off
  • Faceless channel owners watching a whole niche, not one channel
  • Anyone checking where their own video sits in YouTube search for a keyword
  • People who send alerts to Discord, Slack or n8n

Use something else when

  • Watching your private YouTube Analytics, alerts only use public numbers
  • Getting every video on YouTube for a keyword, keyword alerts only see videos already in our index

How to use it

  1. Sign in and open Trackers from the menu.
  2. Paste a channel link, @handle, channel id or a niche slug, pick an alert level (3×, 5× or 10×) and press Track channel.
  3. To follow a topic instead, open Track a keyword or brand name and add the words.
  4. Open the ⋯ menu on a tracker to turn email alerts on or off, add a webhook URL, or ask for every upload.
  5. Scroll to Keyword rank tracker, add a keyword, your video link or @channel and a two letter country code.
  6. Check the Alerts list at the bottom, and press Mark all read when you are done.

What you can track

A tracker follows one thing for you. There are three kinds:

  • A channel. Paste its link, @handle or channel id. The card shows its views for the last 48 hours, 7 days or 30 days, its top videos by views gained, and how often it uploads.
  • A niche. Type a niche slug, for example true-crime-faceless, to get alerts for breakout videos across the whole niche.
  • A keyword or brand name. TubeMind looks for new breakout videos whose title or channel name has your words.

You can also paste many channels at once, one per line, up to your plan's tracker limit. On any channel page you can press Track too. If a channel is not in our index yet, TubeMind offers to fetch it from YouTube and then track it.

How alerts work

When you add a tracker you choose how strong a video must be: 3×, 5× or 10×. That number compares a video's views with the channel's normal level, the same idea as the outlier score. Only videos from the last 7 days count, and we wait until we have enough of a channel's videos to know its normal level.

  • Niche trackers alert at 5× or more, and only for channels with up to 100K subscribers, so the alerts point to smaller channels that are winning.
  • Keyword trackers wait for a title that has all of your words. Coverage is partial: a video on a channel we do not crawl will not appear.
  • Every upload. On a channel tracker you can tick Every upload, not just breakouts. It looks back 48 hours, so turning it on does not flood you with old videos.
  • Channel gone. If a tracked channel is missing from YouTube for 3 days or more, you see a note in the app.

If you connect your own channel, a 5× breakout on it also shows in your alerts.

Email, webhooks and how often things refresh

Alerts are made after every crawl cycle, about every 15 minutes. Email alerts are on by default for each tracker. You get one email per run with all new items together, not one email per video. You can turn email off for one tracker in its ⋯ menu, or for all trackers in Account, where you can also ask for a weekly email on the niches you track.

A webhook sends the same alerts to your own tools, such as Discord, Slack or n8n. Paste the URL in the tracker menu. On Automate you can send a test event and see the delivery log. If an email or webhook fails, TubeMind tries again for up to 5 crawl cycles.

Keep in mind that the numbers come from our crawler, not straight from YouTube. Channels are refreshed from daily to every 14 days depending on how active they are, and each card says when the channel was last checked. An alert can lag YouTube a little.

Keyword rank tracker

Go to Trackers, Keyword rank tracker. Add a keyword, your video link or @channel, and a two letter country code such as US or PK. TubeMind checks where that video or channel sits in YouTube's relevance order for the keyword, inside the top 50, in that country.

Checks run about once a day when search quota allows, and the first check runs with the next crawl. Each row shows today's position and how many places it moved. You get an alert in the app when a keyword moves into the top 10, or into places 11 to 20. You can download the history as a CSV file. Your plan sets how many keywords you can track, and the page tells you the number. Real viewers can see a different order, so treat the position as a guide.

Saved research

Saved is your bookmark shelf. Press Save on any channel, video or niche and it lands there, with today's numbers. You can group items in folders, paste up to 100 links at once to save them, and export any list as CSV.

Saving is not the same as tracking. A saved item does not send alerts. If you want alerts, add the channel or niche to Trackers as well.

Questions

How many trackers can I have?

It depends on your plan. The Free plan includes a small number of trackers, and paid plans include more. The current numbers are on the pricing page and in Account under plan usage.

How fast will I get an alert?

Alerts are made after every crawl cycle, about every 15 minutes. But the views come from our crawler, which refreshes channels from daily to every 14 days, so an alert can come later than the moment the video took off on YouTube.

Why did I not get an alert for a video I can see on YouTube?

The video may not be in our index yet, it may be older than 7 days, or it may be below the alert level you chose. Keyword alerts also need every word of your keyword in the title or channel name.

Can I stop the emails but keep the alerts?

Yes. Untick Email alerts in a tracker's menu, or turn off Send tracker alerts by email in Account. The alerts still show on the Trackers page.

What happens when I remove a tracker?

The tracker, its alert settings and the alerts it already sent are removed together. TubeMind asks you to confirm first.

Does saving a channel track it?

No. Saved keeps a reference for you to come back to. Only a tracker sends alerts.
