Built in AI, Connect AI and automations
TubeMind has built in AI that answers questions using the research on your screen, with a daily allowance by plan, and you can add your own OpenAI, Gemini or Claude key instead. Connect AI gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP apps a private URL to TubeMind's research tools, and Automate sends tracker alerts to n8n, Zapier or Make.
Who it is for
- Creators who want AI answers based on TubeMind data, not the model's memory
- People who already pay for an OpenAI, Gemini or Claude key and want to use it
- Creators who work inside Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor every day
- Anyone who wants outlier alerts in Telegram, Sheets or Slack through n8n, Zapier or Make
Use something else when
- Getting exact earnings or private analytics. AI answers use TubeMind estimates from public data
- Reading TubeMind data through a connector or API key right now, while that access is paused
- Sharing one connector URL with other people. It is a private key to your account
How to use it
- To use built in AI, just sign in. Ask TubeMind and the AI tools work with a daily allowance by plan.
- To use your own key, open Account, then AI settings, pick OpenAI, Gemini or Claude, paste your key and click Test key.
- To connect an AI app, open Connect AI, choose Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another client, and click Create connector URL.
- Copy the URL once, paste it into your AI app with the setup guide on the page, then click Run test.
- For alerts, open Automate, paste a webhook URL from n8n, Zapier or Make, send a test event, and attach it to your trackers.
Built in AI and your own key
TubeMind has AI built in. You do not need to set anything up. The Ask TubeMind panel answers questions about the channel, niche or video on your screen, and its instructions tell it to use the TubeMind data shown on the page, not to invent numbers. AI tools such as title ideas, transcript summaries and comment analysis also run on it, in the web app and in the Chrome extension.
Built in AI has a daily allowance by plan. The current numbers are on plans and limits.
Your own key (optional). In Account, under AI settings, you can choose OpenAI, Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude and paste your own API key. Then:
- Requests go straight from your browser to that provider. TubeMind never sees the key or the text.
- The key is stored only in this browser and is cleared when you sign out.
- Your provider bills the usage under its own limits.
- The Chrome extension keeps its own copy in its own Settings.
Connect AI: TubeMind inside Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
Connect AI uses MCP, a standard way for AI apps to call outside tools. You make one private URL, paste it into your AI app, and the app can use eight TubeMind research tools:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Explore niches | Every tracked niche with its score, verdict and channel count |
| Niche reports | Verdict, youngest winners, videos to model, title patterns, best length, revenue |
| Search channels | Find channels by topic with research filters |
| Channel research | Stats, RPM and revenue estimate and multipliers for one channel |
| Find outliers | Videos that beat their channel's usual views |
| Similar channels | Similar channels, same language first, with the reason |
| Compare channels | 2 to 6 channels side by side |
| New channels | Young channels that already get real views |
So when you ask "Which faceless niches say Enter now?", your AI looks it up in TubeMind's index instead of guessing.
The Connect AI page has a step by step guide for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Gemini CLI. For Claude on the web, for example, you open Settings, then Connectors, click Add custom connector, name it TubeMind, paste the URL, leave the OAuth fields empty and save. Searches and outlier results through the connector count toward the same daily limits as your plan.
Your connector URL and API keys
Your connector URL has a private key inside it. Treat it like a password.
- It is shown once. If you lose it, make a new one on Connect AI or in Account, API keys.
- You can have up to 25 active keys. Keys from Connect AI, the extension and Automate all show in one list with when each was last used.
- Revoking a key disconnects only that app. There is also a button to revoke all keys that were never used.
- Changing or resetting your password turns off all your keys.
Automate with n8n, Zapier and Make
The Automate page has two paths.
- Push: when a tracked channel posts a video that does 5x or more its usual views, TubeMind sends the alert as JSON to your webhook, within the next crawl cycle (about 15 minutes). Create a webhook trigger in n8n, Zapier or Make, paste its URL, click Send test event, then attach it to your trackers. A delivery log shows each try, failed calls are tried again up to 5 times, and every call is signed so your workflow can check it came from TubeMind. More on trackers and alerts.
- Pull: an HTTP request with your API key reads outliers, channels, niches and keywords on a schedule. This path is paused for now, see below.
Paused for now, and other limits
Connector and API key data is paused. While YouTube reviews TubeMind's API use, TubeMind data through API keys and connectors is turned off. Today a connected AI app gets a short paused message instead of research, and the Run test on Connect AI will not return niches. Your plan is not affected, and everything still works on tubemind.io and in the Chrome extension. Webhook alerts from trackers are sent by TubeMind itself, so the push path is not part of this pause.
- All scores, verdicts and revenue figures are TubeMind estimates from public statistics, not YouTube data. An AI answer built on them is still an estimate.
- With your own key, any program that can read your browser profile could read the key. Use a key with a spending limit.
- TubeMind is not affiliated with the named AI providers or with YouTube.
Questions
Do I need my own AI key to use TubeMind AI?
No. Built in AI works as soon as you sign in, with a daily allowance by plan. Your own key is optional, for people who want their provider to bill the usage instead.
Does TubeMind see my OpenAI, Gemini or Claude key?
No. Your own key is stored in your browser and requests go straight to the provider. TubeMind never receives the key or the text you send.
Why does my connector say paused?
TubeMind data through API keys and connectors is paused while YouTube reviews TubeMind's API use. Your account and plan are fine, and the same research works on tubemind.io and in the Chrome extension.
Which AI apps can I connect?
The Connect AI page has guides for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Gemini CLI. Any other app that supports MCP over Streamable HTTP can use the same URL.
I lost my connector URL. Can I see it again?
No, it is shown only once. Create a new one on Connect AI or in Account, API keys, and revoke the old one there.
