AdSense payout checklist for YouTube
Going from earnings to money in your bank takes more steps than most creators expect, and missing one can cost you a month. Tick off what you have done and see what comes next. Each step links to the Google Help page it came from.
This free AdSense payout checklist lists every step between your YouTube earnings and money in your bank, in the order the steps usually come up. Tick what you have done, press What is left?, and the tool shows your next step with a link to the Google Help page it came from. It is for any creator in the YouTube Partner Program who is waiting for a first payment, or who has a payment that did not show up when expected.
Most payment problems are not about money at all. They come from one missed step: a PIN that was never entered, a tax form nobody submitted, a bank detail typed a little wrong. Each one can push your money to the next month, and you often only find out on the day you expected to be paid. I have been on YouTube since 2018, and I built TubeMind so these small, boring steps sit in one place instead of across six help pages.
Every rule on this page was read from Google's own help pages in November 2026. The amounts are for accounts paid in US dollars. Google lists other amounts for other currencies. Payment rules can change, so if anything here differs from your own Payments page, trust the Payments page.
How to use the AdSense payout checklist
- Read the ten steps on the tool. Each one has a short line explaining the rule and a Google Help link.
- Tick every step you have already finished. Be strict: tick the PIN only after you have typed it into AdSense, and tick the tax step only after the form shows as submitted.
- Press What is left? You get two boxes: how many steps are done out of ten, and the name of your next step. Under them you see that step's rule and its Google Help link.
- Do that next step, come back, tick it, and press the button again.
Your ticks are saved in this browser, so the list is still ticked when you come back next month. They are not sent to us, and the tool never connects to your AdSense account. If you clear your browser data, or open the page on another phone, the ticks start empty again.
How the tool works out your next step
There is no score and no guess. The tool keeps the ten steps in a fixed order. When you press the button, it counts how many boxes you ticked and shows the first step in that order that is still unticked. That is your next step. When every box is ticked, it says nothing is left, and reminds you that Google says to ask your bank first if money has still not arrived by the end of the month.
| # | Step in the tool | The rule behind it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Verify your identity | Asked from $0 in a USD account. You have 45 days from the first request. |
| 2 | Submit your US tax info | Every Partner Program creator, in any country. Forms expire about every three years. |
| 3 | Enter the address PIN | Posted at $10. Usually takes about 3 weeks. You have 4 months to enter it. |
| 4 | Add a form of payment | Open from $10. The choices depend on your country. |
| 5 | Match the bank details exactly | Copy them from your bank. Google charges no fee to receive a wire. |
| 6 | Clear every payment hold | Done on or before the 20th, or it waits a month. |
| 7 | Read your finalized earnings | Finalized between the 7th and 12th for YouTube. |
| 8 | Reach $100 by the 20th | Below that, the balance rolls over to next month. |
| 9 | Watch for payment between the 21st and 26th | Moves to the next business day if the 21st is a weekend or holiday. |
| 10 | Allow time for it to arrive | Wire up to 15 business days, EFT up to 7, check 2 to 4 weeks. |
Read the table from top to bottom. The first six steps are set up once, and most of them you never touch again. Steps 7 to 10 repeat every month. So if you tick steps 1, 2 and 3 and press the button, the tool says 3 of 10 done and shows Add a form of payment as your next step.
The AdSense thresholds in one table
A threshold is the balance at which Google asks you to do something, or pays you. Google's payment thresholds page lists these amounts for USD accounts:
| Threshold | USD amount | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Tax information | $0 | You can be asked for tax info before you earn anything |
| Identity verification | $0 | The identity check can start right away |
| Address verification (PIN) | $10 | Google posts your PIN |
| Payment method selection | $10 | You can add your bank or other form of payment |
| Payment | $100 | The balance you need on the 20th to be paid |
| Cancellation | $10 | The balance Google needs to pay out if you close the account |
In plain words: almost everything is asked of you long before payday. Say you joined the Partner Program and earned your first $12. By then Google may already want your ID, has posted a PIN, and lets you pick a bank. The only step that waits for $100 is the payment itself. That is why the setup steps come first in the checklist. Identity verification used to start at $10, and some older guides still say so. Google's page now gives $0.
The setup steps, one by one
1. Verify your identity
Google's first payment checklist says you have 45 days from the date Google first asks you to verify your identity. Its identity verification page lists a passport, driving licence or national identity card, and says the name on your ID must match the name in your account. If the account name is wrong, fix it first, because Google allows only a limited number of attempts. You start the check in AdSense under Payments, then Verification check.
2. Submit your US tax info
Google's US tax page for YouTube says every Partner Program creator must submit US tax info, wherever they live. This surprises many creators in Pakistan and India, who have no link to the US. The reason is that YouTube pays you for views from US viewers, and the US taxes that part.
| Your situation | What Google withholds |
|---|---|
| Outside the US, tax info submitted | 0% to 30% of earnings from US viewers, based on your country's tax treaty |
| US creator, tax info submitted | Nothing |
| Individual account, no tax info | 24% of your total worldwide earnings |
| Business account outside the US, no tax info | 30% of earnings from US viewers |
The third row is the one that hurts. Without a form, Google can take 24% of everything you earn, from every country. With a valid form, only the US share is touched. Google's own example on that page: a creator in India who claims the treaty has 15% withheld from US earnings, against 30% without the claim. So if $20 of a $100 month came from US viewers, a treaty claim at 15% means $3 is withheld, and the other $80 is not touched.
To submit it: in AdSense for YouTube, go to Payments, Payments info, Manage settings, then edit United States tax info and click Manage tax info. Use Latin letters only. Google asks for forms by 10 December each year and says they expire about every three years, so put a reminder in your calendar. Google says it cannot give tax advice, so for your own case ask a tax adviser.
3. Enter the address PIN
Once your balance reaches $10, Google posts a 6-digit PIN to your payment address. Its PIN verification page says it is sent only after any identity check is complete, goes by standard international mail with no tracking number, and usually takes about 3 weeks. If it has not arrived after 3 weeks, you can request a replacement from Payments, Verification check.
Three rules matter here. You have 4 months from the date the PIN was generated to enter it, and after that ads stop showing. Typing it wrong 3 times also stops ads. And Google's PIN page says you must enter it before any payment can be issued. Check that your postal address is complete, with your house number, area and postal code, before the PIN is sent.
4. Add a form of payment
You can choose one from $10. Google lists five forms: check, EFT (a local bank transfer), SEPA, wire transfer and PayPal Hyperwallet. Which ones you see depends on your country. Google's country table currently shows this:
| Country | Check | EFT | Wire | Hyperwallet |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pakistan | Yes | No | Yes | No |
| India | No | No | Yes | No |
| Bangladesh | Yes | No | Yes | No |
| Philippines | Yes | No | Yes | No |
| Nigeria | Yes | No | Yes | No |
| United Kingdom | No | Yes | Yes | No |
| United States | No | Yes | No | Yes |
Read each row as your menu. A creator in Pakistan picks wire or check. A creator in India gets wire only. A creator in the US picks EFT or Hyperwallet. Most creators in South Asia choose wire, because a check takes weeks by post and then has to be cleared by a bank. Older guides still tell you to use Western Union. Google's payment process page says Western Union is no longer available for creators to select. YouTube does not pay into a normal PayPal account either. Hyperwallet is a separate PayPal service, offered only where the table says Yes.
5. Match the bank details exactly
Google's wire transfer setup page says to enter your details exactly as they appear on file with your bank. You will usually need the account holder name, bank name, SWIFT-BIC, and an IBAN or account number. Some countries use a local code instead, such as IFSC in India. The path is Payments, Payments info, Manage payment methods, Add payment method.
Google's wire transfer FAQ says Google does not charge a fee to receive your funds and applies no commission. Any gap between your finalized earnings and what lands comes from your bank, an intermediary bank, or the exchange rate, which your bank sets. Before you add the account, ask your bank four things: can it receive an international wire in USD, what does it charge, what exchange rate does it use, and does it need intermediary bank details. If your bank offers a USD account, Google suggests using it. Wrong intermediary details can delay a wire by up to three months, so leave those fields empty unless your bank asks for them.
6. Clear every payment hold
A hold is a flag on your Payments page that stops money going out. A missing PIN, missing tax info or an unconfirmed payment method can each cause one. Google's payment timelines page says payment info changes, including removing holds, must be done on or before the 20th. A change on the 21st waits for the next month's cycle.
The YouTube AdSense payment timeline
Once setup is done, every month follows the same calendar.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| During the month | Your earnings add up as estimates in YouTube Studio |
| 7th to 12th of the next month | Google finalizes YouTube earnings, after adjustments, and posts them to your balance |
| 20th | Your balance must reach $100, and all changes and holds must be cleared |
| 21st to 26th | Payment is issued and a Payment pending line appears |
| After that | Hyperwallet 1 to 2 days, EFT up to 7 business days, wire up to 15 business days, check 2 to 4 weeks |
Money earned in January is finalized in February and can be issued between 21 and 26 February. If your balance is under $100 on the 20th, it rolls over and is added to next month. Nothing is lost. If the 21st falls on a weekend or holiday, Google says payment may be issued on the first business day after it.
The finalized number can be lower than the estimate you saw in Studio. Google adjusts it for invalid traffic, copyright claims and disputes, some ad campaign types, and US tax. That is why step 8 asks you to read the finalized figure before you plan around it. You may also see the 3rd mentioned on the general AdSense page. The 3rd is for website earnings. For YouTube, Google's page gives the 7th to the 12th.
A worked example: your first payment
Say your channel joins the Partner Program in January and earns $60 that month, then $55 in February. These numbers are made up to show the dates.
- In January your balance passes $10. Google asks for your ID, and after that posts your PIN. You submit your tax form and add a wire account the same week.
- Between 7 and 12 February, January's $60 is finalized. On 20 February your balance is $60, under $100, so nothing is paid. It rolls over.
- Your PIN arrives in mid February. You enter it before the 20th, so no hold is open.
- Between 7 and 12 March, February's $55 is added. Your balance is now $115.
- On 20 March the balance is over $100 and there are no holds, so Google issues payment between 21 and 26 March.
- A wire can take up to 15 business days, so the money could land in early or mid April.
So in this example, money first earned in January reaches the bank about three months later. If the PIN had arrived late and been entered on 22 March, the payment would wait until late April. This is the month you lose by leaving a step open. If you are still building towards the Partner Program, our guide to how many views you need to get paid shows how long the $100 can take.
Mistakes that cost you a month
- Leaving the PIN until you are close to $100. The post takes weeks. Handle it as soon as it comes up.
- Changing bank details after the 20th. The change is saved, but the payment moves to next month.
- Skipping the tax form. Beyond the delay, it can raise what is withheld from 0% on your non-US earnings to 24% of everything.
- A name that does not match. The name on your ID, your AdSense account and your bank account should all be the same.
- Two payment accounts. Google says separate AdSense and AdSense for YouTube payments accounts each have to reach the threshold on their own. You verify your details once, but each account picks its own form of payment.
- Asking for an early payment. Google says payments cannot be issued outside the standard timeline for any reason.
- Following an old guide. Western Union and the $10 identity threshold are both gone.
How to read your result and what to do next
If the tool shows a setup step (1 to 6) as next, that step is what is holding your money. Do it today and do not wait for the balance, because steps like the PIN take weeks. If the next step is 7, your setup is complete and only the balance is left. Use the money calculator to get a rough idea of when you will pass $100. If the next step is 8, 9 or 10, you are in the payment cycle and simply waiting for dates.
When everything is ticked, plan for what reaches your hand. The take-home calculator lets you add the US withholding, your bank's wire charge and your own income tax as lines, using rates you read yourself. If AdSense is your only income, the income mix calculator shows how much of your month depends on it.
If the payment does not arrive
First, confirm the payment was issued. Your Payments page shows a Payment pending line between the 21st and the 26th, and the Transactions page shows the last three months by default (choose All time for the full history). If there is no line, go back through the checklist. The usual cause is a balance under $100 or a hold still open on the 20th.
If it was issued, give it the time your method needs. A wire issued on the 24th can take up to 15 business days, so it may land the next month. Google's timelines page says that if an EFT payment has not arrived by the end of the month, you should contact your bank. Have the payment date and amount ready, because your bank can trace a transfer much faster with those two details.
If you typed a wrong bank detail, ask your bank to cancel the payment. Google's wire FAQ says Google then recalls the funds and reissues the payment, which takes about 15 business days. If your bank account closed, the money comes back to your balance, and once a new verified account is in place it is reissued, which takes about a week. For a check, Google says to wait 60 days from the issue date. If it still has not been cashed, a Reissue payment link appears next to it.
Google can also withhold payment if it finds a policy violation, and can start withholding while it investigates. If your channel's monetization is paused, read why a channel is not monetized and check your status with the monetization checker.
Checking in YouTube Studio vs using a checklist
You can do all of this inside AdSense for YouTube. Its home page shows steps to get paid, and the Payments page shows your balance, holds and payment lines. That is the only place with your own account data, so it is the final word on your status. The weak spot is that its steps appear one at a time, as each threshold is reached, so you do not see the whole road at the start.
A checklist like this one shows all ten steps on day one, in order, with the date rules beside them. It cannot see your account, so it only knows what you tick. Many blog guides cover the same ground, but some still list Western Union or the old $10 identity threshold, so check the date and the sources on any guide you read. The best routine uses both: this page to plan ahead, your Payments page to confirm.
A simple monthly routine
Once you are being paid, this takes a few minutes a month. Around the 12th, open your Payments page and read the finalized earnings and any adjustments. If you need to change anything, do it well before the 20th, not on the day. Around the 26th, check the Payment pending line. Keep a note of what was withheld for US tax, as you will want it when you file your own taxes. Each December, check your tax form has not expired before the 10th.

Honest limits of this tool
- It does not connect to your AdSense or YouTube account. It cannot see your balance, holds or payment lines.
- It does not check your ticks. If you tick a step you have not done, it will skip it.
- The amounts are for USD accounts. Accounts in other currencies have their own thresholds on Google's page.
- It covers AdSense for YouTube payments. Brand deals and affiliate income are paid outside AdSense.
- It gives no tax advice. It points you to Google's tax page and a tax adviser.
- Google can change these rules. The date the steps were checked is shown under the list, and your Payments page always wins.

Bank ki details bilkul waise likhein jaise bank ke record mein hain. Har tabdeeli aur har hold 20 tareekh se pehle khatam karein. Agar 20 tareekh ko balance $100 ya us se zyada ho, to payment 21 se 26 tareekh ke darmiyan issue hoti hai. Wire ko 15 business days tak lag sakte hain.
