Key takeaways
- 1of10 Basic is $19 a month, or $15 billed yearly. Pro jumps to $89, or $69 billed yearly (pricing page, 2 Nov 2026).
- Research never uses credits on 1of10, and the same is true of TubeMind.
- Free limits differ most: 5 outlier results on 1of10, 8 on vidIQ's plan table, up to 50 on TubeMind.
- MCP and API access on 1of10 start at Pro. TubeMind's own connector is paused for now.
I built TubeMind, so read my ranking with that in mind. I would rather you know it from the first line. What I can do is keep to what each company prints on its own pages, tell you where 1of10 is stronger than my product, and say plainly who should stay put.
The question I would ask before leaving 1of10 is simple. Do you open it to find ideas, or to make the thumbnail? Those are two separate jobs, sold in one subscription. If you only do one of them, you can probably pay less. If you do both every week, the bundle is fair.
1of10 against TubeMind at a glance
Start with the two products side by side, because this is the swap most readers are weighing.
| At a glance | TubeMind | 1of10 |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | Yes | Yes |
| Outlier results per search, free plan | Up to 50 | 5 |
| Cheapest paid plan | $19/mo | $19/mo, or $15/mo billed yearly |
| Next plan up | $39/mo | $89/mo, or $69/mo billed yearly |
| Research uses credits | No | No |
| AI thumbnail generator | No | Yes |
| AI video editor | No | Yes |
| Enter / Wait / Avoid niche verdict | Yes | Not on its pricing page |
| MCP for Claude & ChatGPT | Paused for now | From the Pro plan |
| Refund | 14 days | 7 days |
Read the table in two blocks. The top rows are about research, and that is where a free plan with 200 results changes what you can do before paying. With 5 results you get a taste of a niche. With 200 you can sort, compare and see a pattern across channels. The lower rows are about making things, and TubeMind has no answer there: no thumbnail generator and no video editor.
One note on the price row. Our paid plans are arranged by email for now, because online checkout is not open yet. If you need to pay by card today, that counts against us.
What you pay for on 1of10
1of10 gives every plan the research tools and adds monthly credits for AI work. That is a clean split, and I like it. Searching never spends anything. Credits only go when you ask the AI to make something.
| 1of10 plan | Monthly | Billed yearly | What stands out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 60 credits, 5 outlier results, top 3 formats |
| Basic | $19 | $180 a year | Full research results, up to 3 channels |
| Pro | $89 | $828 a year | 1,000 credits, MCP and API access, paid seats |
| Ultra | Yearly only | $4,999 a year | 3,500 credits, group coaching, private community |
The step that deserves attention is Basic to Pro, which adds $70 a month on monthly billing. If you only need more credits, work out your monthly use first. A thumbnail costs 4 credits, a title or idea run 8, an Optimize run 18 and an edited video up to 30 minutes costs 50. Add up what you made last month before you upgrade, because the answer may be that Basic is enough.
The alternatives compared side by side
Here are the free limits and entry prices together, read from each vendor's own pages on 2 November 2026.
| Tool | Free plan | Outlier results on free | Cheapest paid | AI thumbnails |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TubeMind | Yes | Up to 50 | $19/mo | No |
| 1of10 | Yes | 5 | $15/mo billed yearly | Yes |
| vidIQ | Yes | 8 (its Outliers page says 6) | $16.58/mo billed yearly | Yes |
| TubeLab | No | No free plan | $29/mo | Not on its pricing page |
| ViewStats | Free account | Not stated | $49.99/mo | Not on its pricing page |
| NexLev | No research plan | None | Rs1,320/mo (Pakistan) | Yes |
vidIQ's two numbers are a small warning about this whole category. Its plan table says 8 results per search and its Outliers page says up to 6. Both are vidIQ's own pages. Limits move, so treat every number here as dated, including mine.
Up to 50 outliers per search on the free plan, 20 niche searches a day and an Enter / Wait / Avoid verdict. No thumbnail generator, and the index is smaller than the big names.
Keyword research, an AI coach and a thumbnail generator. Its plan table lists 8 outlier results per search on Free, and AI actions spend a shared credit pool.
Niche and outlier finders with unlimited use on every plan. Credits pay for AI ideas, and the plans include AI avatar videos.
A search box for outliers with include and exclude keywords, plus competitor tracking. See my ViewStats alternatives guide.
AI thumbnails and 40+ extension tools from Lite. The Niche Finder and faceless outliers sit in Pro.
What I like and miss in each one
TubeMind: if research is the half you use
What I like: the free plan is enough to judge a niche, with up to 50 outliers per search, and you can run the niche checker before committing. The outlier multiplier compares a video to the median of that channel's recent uploads of a similar format, and the method is public.
What I miss: no thumbnail generator, no video editor, and a smaller index than the largest tools. Paying is still by email.
vidIQ: if you want SEO and AI in one place
What I like: a full keyword and optimization suite, plus a thumbnail generator, all in one login. The free plan comes with 150 AI credits a month.
What I miss: credits do not roll over, and a thumbnail costs 22 of them, so the free pool covers six. I go deeper in vidIQ vs TubeMind.
TubeLab: if you are happy to pay from day one
What I like: its pricing page lists unlimited Niche Finder and Outliers Finder use, so a long research day costs nothing extra.
What I miss: there is no free plan, and the Starter filters are basic.
NexLev: if your channel is faceless
What I like: AI thumbnails and 40+ extension tools from the Lite plan, and a very large channel database on Pro.
What I miss: the Niche Finder needs Pro, so the cheapest plan does not give you the research most people buy it for.
Who should stay on 1of10
Stay if you publish every week, your videos are good, and clicks are the thing holding you back. The AI thumbnail and title tools are the reason to pay, and a research tool will not fix a packaging problem.
Leave, or drop to Free, if you open it mostly to browse outliers. In that case a free research plan does the job, and you can keep 1of10's free account for the odd thumbnail test.
- Note what you did in 1of10 last month: searches, thumbnails, edits.
- Run the same niche through the free outliers feed and compare what you find.
- If the research holds up, move that part and keep only what you still need.
Where this comparison can mislead you
I judged these tools from their public pages, and I did not run a scored test between them for this article. Pricing pages also leave things out. "Not on its pricing page" means I did not see it there, and the tool may still offer it somewhere else. One more flag: the credit figure for 1of10 Basic did not sit cleanly with the page's own example of what it buys, so I left that plan's credits out of the table.
Sources. 1of10 plans, credit costs, refund and free limits: its pricing page, read on 2 November 2026 (prices shown in USD). vidIQ limits: Features and Credits by Plan and its Outliers page, same day. TubeLab, ViewStats and NexLev prices: their pricing pages, same day, NexLev as shown from Pakistan. TubeMind figures describe our own product and our pricing page. Check each vendor before you buy.
If research is the half you use, try it free in the outliers feed.
Research right on YouTube: the free TubeMind Chrome extension shows the outlier multiplier, a revenue estimate and similar channels on YouTube pages.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best free alternative to 1of10?
For outlier research, TubeMind: the free plan gives up to 50 outliers per search and 20 niche searches a day with no card, against 5 results per search on 1of10's free plan. If you want AI thumbnails for free, 1of10's own free plan is still the place to try them, with a watermark on the image.
How much does 1of10 cost in 2026?
On 2 November 2026 its pricing page listed Free at $0, Basic at $19 a month or $180 a year, Pro at $89 a month or $828 a year, and Ultra at $4,999 a year. Research tools use no credits on any plan. AI tools run on monthly credits, and refunds are offered for 7 days.
Does 1of10 have a free plan?
Yes, and it does not expire. It includes 60 credits a month, 5 results each for outlier search and thumbnail search, the top 3 trending formats, Optimize on your 10 latest videos and one connected channel. You do not need a card, and free thumbnails carry a 1of10 watermark.
Can any tool replace 1of10's thumbnail generator?
vidIQ and NexLev both sell an AI thumbnail generator, so they are the nearest swaps. vidIQ charges 22 AI credits per generation or edit. TubeMind does not generate thumbnails, though its free thumbnail tester lets you preview your own design next to other videos before you publish.
Is 1of10 worth paying for?
It is if packaging is your weak spot and you will use the AI tools every week. If you mostly want to look at what is breaking out, you are paying for tools you do not touch, and a free research plan covers that part. Try the free plan for a week and see which half you open.
