Key takeaways
- ViewStats Pro showed $49.99 a month and Business from $249 a month (2 Nov 2026).
- All five alternatives here have a paid plan under that Pro price.
- ViewStats scores outliers against the average of the last 10 videos, per its help article.
- Its include and exclude keyword search is the feature I would miss most.
ViewStats is a good product, and I will start there. Its Outliers tool takes a title, an idea, a handle, a URL or a niche in one search box, and that is a pleasant way to work. I built a competing tool, so you should discount what I say about my own. Price is the plain reason people look elsewhere, and price is easy to check.
At $49.99 a month, Pro costs about $600 over a year on monthly billing. For a full-time creator that may be nothing. For a small channel it is a real commitment, and it deserves a clear reason.
ViewStats against TubeMind at a glance
This table sets ViewStats next to my own product. The next section brings in the others.
| At a glance | TubeMind | ViewStats |
|---|---|---|
| Free option | Free plan, no card | Free account |
| Paid entry price | $19/mo | $49.99/mo |
| Team plan | Not offered | From $249/mo, unlimited credits |
| Outlier search | Yes | Yes |
| Outlier baseline | Median of recent similar uploads | Average of the last 10 videos |
| Competitor tracking | 2 trackers on Free, 10 on Starter | Yes |
| Enter / Wait / Avoid niche verdict | Yes | Not on its pricing page |
| AI thumbnail tools | No | Not on its pricing page |
Two rows need explaining. The price row favours us on paper, but our paid plans are arranged by email for now, since online checkout is not open yet. The baseline row is about method, and it matters more than it looks.
Why the outlier baseline changes your results
An outlier score is only as useful as the number it divides by. ViewStats says a 204x video has 204 times more views than the last 10 videos averaged at that time. TubeMind divides by the median of a channel's recent uploads of a similar format.
Here is why that matters, using made-up numbers to show the maths. Say nine recent videos got 10,000 views each and one got 1,000,000. The average of those ten is 109,000, so a new video with 500,000 views scores about 4.6x. The median is 10,000, so the same video scores 50x. Neither answer is wrong. The average asks how a video did against the channel's whole recent output. The median asks how it did against a normal upload. You can read more in what an outlier score means. Just do not compare a score from one tool with a score from another.
The alternatives compared side by side
Prices below come from each vendor's own page on 2 November 2026. Tracking is the row most ViewStats users care about.
| Tool | Free option | Competitor tracking | Entry price |
|---|---|---|---|
| ViewStats | Free account | Yes | $49.99/mo |
| TubeMind | Yes | 3 on Free, 10 on Starter, 100 on Pro | $19/mo |
| 1of10 | Yes | On every plan | $15/mo billed yearly |
| vidIQ | Yes | 3 on Free, 20 on Boost, 50 on Max | $16.58/mo billed yearly |
| TubeLab | No | Not listed by that name; saved searches and collections | $29/mo |
| OutlierKit | Trial only | Competitor Studio from Pro | $24.92/mo billed yearly |
If tracking is all you want, three channels on a free plan may already cover you. If you watch a short list of rivals, that is plenty. If you watch fifty channels, you are in a different market, and vidIQ Max or ViewStats make more sense.
Up to 50 outliers per search and 2 trackers on the free plan, plus niche verdicts. The index is smaller than the biggest tools.
Competitor tracking on every plan, outlier search and AI thumbnails. The free plan shows 5 results per search.
Competitor tracking inside a wider keyword and AI suite.
Unlimited niche and outlier search on every plan, with similar channels and saved searches.
Competitor Studio maps a whole niche from one channel, from the Pro plan. See my OutlierKit alternatives guide.
What I like and miss in each one
TubeMind
What I like: enough free depth to judge a niche, with up to 50 outliers per search. Trackers send email alerts on the free plan, and the scoring method is public.
What I miss: ViewStats' single box that takes any kind of input, and its exact-match search. No thumbnail tools either.
1of10
What I like: competitor tracking is included even on Free, and research never spends credits.
What I miss: 5 results per search on Free is a small window. Then Basic to Pro jumps by $70 a month.
vidIQ
What I like: a clear ladder of tracking limits, inside a much wider SEO suite.
What I miss: if you only want tracking, you pay for an AI suite you may not use.
TubeLab
What I like: unlimited in-app search with no meter running.
What I miss: no free plan, so you pay before you can judge it.
OutlierKit
What I like: Competitor Studio maps a whole niche from one channel, which is close to what heavy ViewStats users want.
What I miss: that feature starts on the $599 a year Pro plan, and a credit meter sits over the research.
Who should keep ViewStats
Keep it if you use advanced search daily, or if a team needs Business with unlimited credits. Otherwise, try this:
- Write down the three searches you run most often in ViewStats.
- Run them in a free plan, such as the TubeMind outliers feed, and note what is missing.
- Add your rivals to free trackers for two weeks.
- If nothing is missing, cancel. If something is, you now know the feature you are paying for.
What I could not confirm
ViewStats does not spell out much on its pricing page. Pro's yearly price and credit allowance are not shown there, and Pro's monthly figure appeared only once the page had fully loaded. The help article on Outliers was last updated about a year ago, so the tool may have moved on. OutlierKit does not list a free plan on its plans page, so check its trial terms yourself. And I did not run the same search in each tool for this article.
Sources. ViewStats prices: its pricing page, read on 2 November 2026 from Pakistan. Outlier definition, search inputs and advanced search: ViewStats Help, same day. vidIQ tracking limits: Features and Credits by Plan. 1of10, TubeLab and OutlierKit: their pricing pages, same day. Yearly Pro price: quoted by a competitor (OutlierKit, August 2026), unconfirmed. TubeMind figures describe our own plans.
Paste a rival's channel into the free outliers feed and see what comes back.
Research right on YouTube: the free TubeMind Chrome extension shows the outlier multiplier, a revenue estimate and similar channels on YouTube pages.
Frequently asked questions
How much is ViewStats Pro?
ViewStats' pricing page showed Pro at $49.99 a month on 2 November 2026, with Business starting at $249 a month. A competitor's pricing page quotes $479.88 a year for Pro, but I could not confirm that yearly price on ViewStats itself, so check at checkout before you plan around it.
Is ViewStats free?
There is a free account, and the pricing page links to it, but that page does not list what the free account includes. Third-party reviews describe public channel and video stats, and they disagree on the limits. ViewStats files its Outliers help article under Viewstats Pro, so expect that tool to be a paid feature.
What does a ViewStats outlier score mean?
ViewStats' help article says a 204x score means the video has 204 times more views than the channel's last 10 videos averaged at that time. TubeMind's multiplier uses a median of recent similar uploads, so one huge video does not lift the baseline as much. The two scores are not comparable.
What is the best free alternative to ViewStats?
For outliers, TubeMind's free plan shows up to 50 per search and tracks 2 channels with email alerts. For checking one channel's public numbers, Social Blade is a long-standing free option. For your own channel, YouTube Studio is free and has private data that no outside tool can see.
Is ViewStats worth $50 a month?
If competitor analysis is a daily part of your work and its advanced search saves you hours, it can be. If you check outliers once a week, the same job costs less elsewhere. I would try a free plan for two weeks first, then decide with a list of what you could not do.
